For those wanting an adventure filled day, then this is the tour for you. Experience the best that Minjerribah (Stradbroke Island) has to offer by 4WD. Departing Brisbane City, begin your day with an exhilarating boat ride across Moreton Bay to the beautiful Amity on North Stradbroke Island where you will meet your 4WD tour guide.   

We drive the full Northern section of the Island where you will experience all the best vantage points. This includes the beaches and bush tracks.

During our drive around we will stop off for some “Aussie Damper” with jam and “Billy” tea at Brown Lake the bush tracks or the Beach. 

We drive through the Blue Lake National Park to Main Beach with stops to allow for photos and “Wildlife Watching”.

From June to November, we can spot the majestic Humpback Whales from Main Beach and the North Gorge.

We then head to Point Lookout and onto Flinders Beach. We drive along the beach to Amity Point where we have a couple of resident Koalas to photograph and admire. 

We look at and talk about the history of the Island and then make our way back to Amity where you will enjoy a late lunch at the Amity Tavern. Enjoy some free time in Amity spotting Koalas, dolphins off Amity jetty or a few more drinks at the pub before you head back to Brisbane City.

ISLAND PUB TRAWL – AMITY TAVERN & GUTTER BAR

Let’s get the music pumping and the drinks flowing, jump onboard the Epic Island Pub Crawl tour for an exciting day out and a chance to party with fellow travellers! 

  • Depart from City Botanic Gardens on the Brisbane River, in the centre of Brisbane City.
  • An exhilarating trip on our high-speed vessel, down the river, and across magnificent Moreton Bay, full of sea life including Dolphins, Turtles, Dugongs, Sting Rays and even whales (in season).
  • Visit two of the largest sand islands in the world – North Stradbroke Island and Moreton Island!
  • Party at two island bars – The World-Famous “Gutter Bar” and Jamie Vogler’s “Amity Tavern”.
  • Enjoy lunch at the Amity Tavern, which is included.
  • On the islands, you can expect Koalas, Kangaroos, and other wildlife in their natural habitat.

Snorkel the World Famous Tangalooma Wrecks on Moreton Island, climb the Sand dunes of Moreton Island, take some time to have a swim in some of the clearest waters in the world, and witness the abundance of sea life that our crew will point out on your adventure; turtles, dolphins, sting rays, dugongs and perhaps even whales! 

After your snorkel, swim and activities we will make our way to North Stradbroke, passing the spectacular “outer banks” at Amity Point before landing at Amity for Lunch at the Amity Tavern. The Amity Tavern with its beach bar vibes, operated by Jamie Vogler, has become an icon of the Straddie scene and a popular spot for Tourists and Locals to gather for food and a quiet drink.

BEST OF STRADDIE TOUR

Minjerribah (Stradbroke Island) is the second-largest sand island in the world and you heard us right, you can get out there straight from Brisbane city. This tour includes everything you need to make your day as seamless and fun as it can be starting off with an exhilarating boat ride across Moreton Bay, spotting dolphins and taking in the incredible scenery the Bay has to offer. 

On arrival, hop aboard the exclusive River to Bay bus as we take you to the iconic Point Lookout. You will be guided along the 1.2km Gorge Walk following the Point Lookout headland which is undoubtably one of the most spectacular coastal walks in Australia. As you enjoy the magnificent ocean view to one side, be surrounded by Australian bushland on the other as you get up close and personal with some of Australia’s most iconic locals including kangaroos, wallabies and koalas. Keep your eyes peeled as your spot majestic marine life including sea turtles, giant manta rays and pods of dolphins as they ride the waves below. On top of this, it is one of the best land-based lookout points for spotting humpback whales as they travel past this iconic island on their annual migration. 

After you experience the true magic Point Lookout has to offer, we will jump back on the bus and head to Amity Point- a small seaside town which is undoubtably one of the best places to spot a koala. Your guide will walk you through Amity making sure you see one of these beautiful creatures before you head to lunch at the newly opened Amity Tavern. 

Enjoy free time on the Island before getting back on River to Bays vessel for your trip back to Brisbane city.

If you are a lover of Oysters then we have a very special trip planned for you. 

Have you ever tasted a fresh Moreton Bay Oyster?

This trip departs the small seaside township of Dunwich on North Stradbroke Island. At Dunwich we will load 6 freshly shucked Oysters for each guest onboard directly from the Oyster farmer. We will then take a tour to the Oyster Farm where will collect 6 unshucked Oysters from the water for each guest from the Oyster Farm. 

There is no better place to enjoy your Oysters than the Amity Banks that separate North Stradbroke Island and Moreton Island. We will land on the sand bank and give you a chance to stretch your legs, devour your Oysters “picnic style” while indulging on a drink(s) of your choice, and enough time to have a dip in the water should you desire a swim. Amity Banks is famous for pure white sand, Crystal clear turquoise waters and an abundance of sea life including turtles, dolphins, dugong, whales (seasonal), sting rays and colourful fish. 

On the trip you will also learn how to shuck an Oyster and we will provide you with a complimentary shucking knife and glove to take home. 

Making our way back to Dunwich, take your time to soak up the beauty of the North Stradbroke Island coastline.

*The Moreton Bay Rock Oyster season runs from October-March, during which we are able to provide fresh oysters from the lease. Outside of this season, fresh oysters will not be available due to spawning.
