Departing the seaside town of Dunwich, rich in history and culture and home to the Traditional Owners of the land, the Quandamooka people, our tour will hug the shoreline of North Stradbroke Island as we make our way to Amity Point on the Northern tip of “Straddie”.

We will traverse the spectacular waters of the Amity Banks as we make our way to Moreton Island. You will witness some of the largest sand dunes in the world as we cruise the Moreton Island Coast.

We will make a stop at the “world Famous” Tangalooma Wrecks and Beach. Here you can swim, snorkel, climb the sand dunes or just take a walk along the magnificent beach.

Leaving Moreton Island, we will make our way past more of the Bay Islands, including Peel Island, originally established as a “Leper colony”, as we return to Dunwich. Take your time on North Stradbroke Island to discover the magic of the island, or head back to your destination at this point.

The waters of Moreton Bay are full of sea life. Turtles, dolphins, dugong, sting rays and even whales (seasonal) are often spotted on our journey.

Moreton Bay and its magnificent Islands are a must see if you are visiting Brisbane.

If you want to see the best the bay has to offer, this trip is for you! There is simply no other Bay tour like this one.

Drinks and snacks are available for purchase onboard. There is a toilet onboard the vessel.

Stradbroke Island Day Tour

ADULT: $132 | CHILD: $99

Your guide for this tour will be Aboriginal Knowledge Holder of Sea Country and local Quandamooka man, Mark Jones. Mark grew up on Tcherrangari (North Stradbroke Island) and his many years of knowledge of the Quandamooka, Culture and Traditions is world famous. Mark continues to practice “cultural ways” and continues to pass down these cultural practices to the next generation, just as he learnt from his family and elders growing up on country.

On this tour you will get to explore the waters on the western side of Tcherrangari (North Stradbroke Island) and the southern end of Mulgumpin (Moreton Island).

Straddie Adventures will provide the commentary on the tour, which will talk about local history, First Nation’s people history, family customs, traditions and practises, environmental management, and issues.

We will talk about the importance of mangroves and shellfish for this area. You will witness locations that have a meaningful history for the First Nations people of the area. Frequently you will have an opportunity to see many fish, stingrays, eagle-rays, shovel-nose rays, turtles, dugongs, whales (seasonal), dolphins and birds.

This is a very intimate and special tour.  If you seek a greater understanding and appreciation of indigenous culture, we highly recommend this tour hosted by Mark and Straddie Adventures.
